Titanium Grade 5

Superior mechanical performance, lightweight and reliability for the most demanding applications

About Titanium Grade 5

Titanium Grade 5, also known as Ti-6Al-4V, is the most widely used titanium alloy in the world. Thanks to its unique combination of high mechanical strength, lightness, excellent corrosion resistance and outstanding fatigue strength, it is widely used across the aerospace, medical, automotive, marine and energy sectors.

This alpha-beta alloy delivers exceptional performance in critical environments while maintaining good machinability and weldability (with proper precautions).

Technical Properties and Composition of Titanium Grade 5

$

Alpha-Beta Alloy for Structural Applications

Grade 5 combines the characteristics of both alpha and beta phases, offering excellent versatility in strength and formability.

$

Service Temperature up to 400 °C

This alloy maintains strong mechanical performance under prolonged exposure to moderately high temperatures.

$

Very High Mechanical Strength

With a tensile strength reaching up to 1000 MPa, Grade 5 is suitable for components subject to extreme loads.

$

Certified Biocompatibility

Suitable for medical use, including permanent implants and surgical instruments.

$

Good Corrosion Resistance

Effectively resists harsh environments such as seawater, acidic solutions, and oxidising atmospheres.

$

Excellent Fatigue Resistance

Its ability to withstand repeated mechanical cycles and resist crack propagation makes it ideal for dynamic components.
