About Zeron® 100
Zeron® 100 is a highly alloyed super duplex stainless steel developed to offer outstanding corrosion resistance in harsh environments, including highly chlorinated, acidic or saline conditions. Its balanced metallurgical structure (ferrite/austenite) combined with copper, tungsten, and nitrogen additions gives it superior durability and strength compared to standard stainless steels and conventional duplex grades like 2205.
Zeron® 100 is widely used in offshore, chemical processing, desalination, petrochemical, and energy sectors, especially for critical components operating under severe stress and corrosion.
Technical Features & Composition of Zeron® 100
Balanced Duplex Microstructure
With roughly 50% ferrite and 50% austenite, Zeron® 100 provides excellent mechanical strength and corrosion resistance, even in the most aggressive environments.
Wide Operating Temperature Range
Suitable for service from –50 °C up to +280 °C (and potentially higher depending on the application), this alloy maintains exceptional structural stability under thermal cycling.
Very High Mechanical Strength
With yield strength up to twice that of conventional austenitic stainless steels, it’s an ideal choice for high-pressure systems and structural components.
Good Weldability
When using appropriate methods, Zeron® 100 can be welded effectively while maintaining its metallurgical integrity and mechanical properties.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, especially in chloride-rich or acidic media.
