Titanium Grade 2
Commercially Pure Titanium Alloy – Ideal for Industrial, Marine and Medical Applications
About Titanium Grade 2
Titanium Grade 2 is a commercially pure titanium (CP – Commercially Pure) offering an excellent balance of mechanical strength, ductility and corrosion resistance. It stands out for its exceptional formability, strong weldability and high chemical purity, making it a preferred choice across many industries.
Grade 2 is one of the most widely used unalloyed titanium grades, particularly in the chemical, medical, water treatment, offshore and general industrial sectors.
Technical Properties and Composition of Titanium Grade 2
Pure Titanium Alloy
Titanium Grade 2 is a commercially pure material known for its well-balanced combination of strength, ductility and corrosion resistance — making it one of the most versatile titanium grades available.
Service Temperature up to 315 °C
Titanium Grade 2 maintains its mechanical properties and chemical stability up to 315 °C, making it suitable for many moderately thermal industrial applications.
Very Good Corrosion Resistance
This alloy offers outstanding resistance to corrosion in harsh environments such as seawater, acidic media, chlorinated and oxidising conditions — making it ideal for chemical, marine and medical applications.
Excellent Formability and Weldability
With high ductility, it can be cold-formed without cracking and is highly weldable without the need for specialised treatments — simplifying manufacturing processes.
Certified Biocompatibility
Its high chemical purity and biological stability make Grade 2 a safe alloy for medical use, including the production of implants, surgical tools and medical devices.

Why Choose Grade 2?
Titanium Grade 2 is a benchmark material for industrial and marine applications requiring strength, reliability, ease of fabrication, and long-term durability. Its high purity provides remarkable properties while remaining cost-effective for large-scale production.
Outstanding Corrosion Resistance in Aggressive Environments
Titanium Grade 2 excels in corrosive conditions, particularly in seawater, acidic solutions, or oxidising atmospheres, making it a material of choice in the chemical, marine, and water treatment industries.
Lightweight for Optimised Performance
With a density of approximately 4.51 g/cm³, it is around 45% lighter than stainless steel, allowing for structural weight reduction without compromising mechanical strength.
Excellent Formability and Weldability
Easily formed both cold and hot, Grade 2 titanium is also highly weldable, simplifying integration into complex designs and a wide range of industrial assemblies.
Good Biocompatibility for Medical Use
Naturally biocompatible, it is suitable for medical devices and surgical instruments, offering safety and reliability for direct contact with the human body.
